Soil Saturday

Soil Saturday was a resounding success!

60 gallons of soil was made in 3 hours! Everyone took home 2 buckets of small and one of medium mix.  For our club, this combo seemed to be optimal. Plenty for spring repotting season!

There was plenty of discussion on what additional materials might be added to each person’s mix.  Fun to hear what everyone ends up doing.

Sure makes you appreciate every grain of lava and pumice when you mix your own soil but making it together made it a fun event instead of a chore.

No Aug. meeting

With soring temperatures, smoke so thick you can cut it, and members on evacuation notice we have canceled the August meeting.

See you on the third Thursday in Sept.

Jim Chamberlain took this photo of two baby hummingbirds that fledged the day after he snapped this shot.

June Meeting – All about Pines

Join us the third Thursday of June to discuss single and multi-flush pines. We’ll be discussing teachings from Michael Hagedorn, Jonas Dupuich, Ryan Neil, and Bjorn Bjorholm and hopefully, clarify some of the confusion associated with the study of pines.

Members are encouraged to bring their pines to discuss pruning and design.
